Facts and Opinions

  • SelectQuote went public on 21.05.2020, Vroom and Warner Music followed shortly.

  • Roadshows were done via Zoom and WebEx —> all in all, this is way cheaper for everyone.

  • NASDAQ: 64 IPOs (as of 30.06.2020), NYSE: 33 IPOs.

  • Vroom met with 235 potential investors in 7 days vs (usually) 3+ weeks

No need to fly, more time to focus on the job and questions

And, of course, dinners with the family

  • A shorter span between a [virtual] roadshow and an IPO —> smaller market risk.

  • NASDAQ and NYSE didn’t lower their fees

  • The savings, however, are on the rest of the fees: travel, printing [MK: that’s huge], less people got distracted.

  • No change in regulations [no increase, this is good]
